Byron Craddolph for
City Council

BYRON CRADDOLPH

Candidate for Blue Springs City Council – District 2

Strong Foundations. Smart Growth. A Responsible Future for Blue Springs.

Welcome

Growing up on my granddad’s farm in Texas and here in the Show-Me State of Missouri taught me a lot about life — the value of hard work, responsibility, and looking out for your neighbors.

Blue Springs has been my home for more than 30 years. My wife is a lifelong public school teacher who truly does God’s work caring for children, including those with special needs.

Together, we have five sons, two of which are twins. I am proud that my sons are Blue Springs High School graduates, and one of our sons recently graduated from the UMKC School of Law.

Being a life long resident, I really try to put myself into the citizens shoes and do my best to resolve issues. you can't make everyone happy, but you can always try. Sometimes all people want to do is tell you their story. It's important to work with residents one-on-one and address each concern. Blue Springs is on the move, but we are not finished yet. All people want is to feel safe and to enjoy the use of their property and community services. We must plan carefully how we create the vision of our city and how we want it to develop. "We can no longer wait for the growth of action," as the 33rd U.S. President Harry S. Truman once said, "government must show the way."

I call on all citizens of Blue Springs to exercise their right to vote. The first amendment gives us the right to be different, and to respect this right is to be tolerant and respectful to every American. I thank our military personnel and first responders who put their lives on the line every day for us, our rights, and this country. May God bless The United States of America, the city of Blue Springs, our service members and first responders, and all of our children.

Priorities for Blue Springs:

My priorities focus on protecting the investments of our community while planning responsibly for Blue Springs’ future.

Public Safety

Support law enforcement and if tools like drones and Flock cameras are used, ensure they strengthen public safety and security while protecting citizens' privacy and civil rights.

Infrastructure First

  • Prioritize repairing and maintaining roads, water systems, and sewer infrastructure before approving larger development projects.

  • Protecting and repairing our streets while holding fiber and utility contractors accountable for restoring any damage they cause.

This protects our homes and businesses, and any future developments.

Responsible Growth

Encourage smart development that strengthens the local economy while preserving the character of Blue Springs neighborhoods and maintaining a high quality of life and safety for residents.

Parks

Maintain and improve parks so they remain clean, safe, and welcoming for all families.

Thoughtful Downtown Planning

Support careful planning, modern updated traffic studies, and long-term accountability before approving major development projects to ensure growth benefits the entire community for years to come.

Walk-able Neighborhoods

Promote sidewalks and shared road improvements that make neighborhoods safer and more accessible for families, students, and our disabled residents.

Attract Quality Businesses

Encourage family-oriented restaurants, small businesses, and good-paying jobs that strengthen the local economy, and expand social service opportunities for residents.

Fiscal Responsibility and Priority-Based Budgeting

Support responsible budgeting that prioritizes essential services, infrastructure and public safety, while protecting taxpayer investment and ensure that city resources are used correctly and with transparency.
